There is no doubt that House Music is taking over the 2020s. This surge has come and is here to stay.
Exiting the pandemic led to the release of an unduly effervescent mindset shared amongst most. Being able to freely enjoy public again has caused people to skyrocket in the scene of dance, thus dance music has exponentially grown in popularity. There is no fleeing this scene.
Let’s go over some of my favorite new artists that I’m eagerly anticipating their climb up the popular ladder.
CLOONEE: Coming from the UK, Cloonee has made quite a name for himself in the recent year. He has gone from down-to-earth city life in Birmingham, UK, to playing once-in-a-lifetime shows in Ibiza. My two favorite tracks of his are of course the newly released, Sippin Yak, and Tripasia.
BUNT.: Bunt is a German DJ who has a style similar to the house-music legend, Avicii. Some favorites are Crocodile Tears, Clouds, and Say You’re With Me. He has recently triumphed when playing at EDC Mexico. This, on top of his Clouds Tour II, has livened up his brand. With lots of exciting events to come, there is so much to look forward to.
Now– House Sax as a whole.
This is a personal all-time favorite sector of music.
I have always loved songs that incorporated a prominent saxophone lead, as that was constantly in the background growing up. Take Five (The Dave Brubeck Quartet) and Morning Dance (Spyro Gyra) are some of my most nostalgic songs. Since then, I have grown this love after visiting Mykonos in 2023 and having these beats buzzing in the background from morning to night, daily. Soul Sacrifice by Dombresky, and honestly anything by Berlioz have taken over my musical preferences. When in doubt, I’m plugging in saxxy sounds and listening laden in contentment.
